La Norvège en été

la Norvège en été

The pioneer Captain With started in 1893 with a regular boat schedule between Trondheim in the South and Hammerfest in the North.   Due to the gulfstream this route over sea was the only possible connection between the North and the South of Norway.  The schedule was expanded in 1911 and the same route is still sailed up till now!  This connection is done by the world famous Hurtigruten ships.  Like 100 years ago, the most important task of the Hurtigruten is still the strict scheduled transport of post, passengers and goods along the breathtaking coast of Norway.

We propose you a trip on one part of this route, being from Tromsø till Trondheim.

After our flight to Tromsø (via Oslo) in the late afternoon we visit Polaria (a scientific activity program) and the Arctic Cathedral (one of the most beautiful churches of Norway).  Dinner is planned in a local restaurant.  At 23h30 embarcation on the Hurtigruten boat.

The next day, we visit the Vesterålen archipelago with its beautiful flora.  Here you can find some of the most beautiful fjords of Norways like Raftsund and Trollfjord.

Afterwards visit to the Lofoten Archipelago with its typical red painted fishers cabans and typical little fishing  harbours where a lot of Norwegian and international artists found new homes.

On day 3 we pass the polar circle.  On our way we will also see the mountain chain called 'the 7 sister's and the 'Torghatten' mountain.  p

Day 4 we plan to visit Trondheim, the former capital of Norway, with its beautiful cathedral from 12th century.  FLight back in the afternoon (via Oslo).
